This time next week...

Tuesday, 3 April 2012
This time next week I'll have done a days work after 9 months maternity leave.

This time next week I'll have not spent the entire day with my kids.

This time next week I'll be feeling guilty about going to work the next day and not spending the day with my kids.

This time next week I'll be rushing around getting everything organised for the morning.

This time next week I'll be feeling cream crackered from a regularly night waking baby, an early rising baby, a commute, a days work, another commute, cooking dinner, tidying up, bath time, bed time.

This time next week I'll be looking forward to getting into bed, only to repeat it all again the next day.

I don't need to say anymore about how I feel about this do I?

  1. Oh lovely, treasure these last few days and try to enjoy them. Mat leave is over in the blink of an eye isn't it?! But you never know, once you've refound your working mojo you might enjoy being back. x

Aww this makes me feel so sad, and so lucky too.

Hope the transition back to work isn't too tough for you. x

  1. Bless you spud. I wish there was a magic wand I could wave to make it not be so for you. There's not much I can say other than that we do the best we can for our babies. We all do. And no one has it perfectly sorted, no matter how much they bullshit that they do. I certainly don't. That's why I took 3 hours off this avo to watch them swim and now will take me 5 hours to do 3 hours work to catch up because I'm so tired....

I know it's impossible but try to not feel too guilty. They will be doing messy play, getting cuddles, interacting with other babies and doing all sorts of cool stuff. I hold on to that, when I think of them not being with me.

    Much love. Me x

  1. oh lovely, I'm sure it will be better than you think. I went back to work twice and did enjoy some 'non child' related chat and a hot coffee! Hugs, Emma xx

  1. thanks all, I've been back once after Isla and it was fine, I just can't see how it will work this time. This time next week I'll have some idea of whether it will work I guess.
